Beautiful Butterflies

Don't these Beautiful Butterflies just jump off the page!

We made this beautiful card back in a March class. It was the first time I had worked with Stampin'Up's heat and stick. First we cut out the butterflies using Stampin'Up!'s exclusive Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die, stamped the butterflies and the Tempting Turquoise card stock card front in VersaMark and the Bella Toile background stamp, poured on Heat and Stick powder on the butterflies, heated them up with our heat gun, poured on Dazzling Diamonds and reheated them again. And voila!

The butterflies were attached with pop up glue dots to give a 3D effect.

Stampin'Up!'s beautiful designer paper and card stock coordinate perfectly. Once I open a pack of designer paper I write all the coordinating card stock colors right on the back of the pack. Perfect match every time!

Material used:

Stamps: Bella Toile background stamp, warm words

Ink: VersaMark, Tempting Turquoise

CS: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Flock Together DP

Accessories: Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die, dazzling diamonds glitter,Heat & Stick powder, eyelet border punch, small & large oval punch

KC's First Swap

I joined my first demo swap last week and had a ball participating!

My main challenge wasn't following the swap guidelines, it was trying to decide what card to make.

So I pulled out my New Stampin'Up! Idea Book & Catalogue and started my searching. There it was, sitting on page 101. After a quick inventory check I got to work. I couldn't resist adding the Dusty Durango polka-dot ribbon and embossing the card front with the new Perfect Details Texturz Plates.

One of the main rules of the swap was Stampin'Up! material only. If we don't sell it, don't use it in the swap!

This swap gave me another idea. Why not have a daily challenge posting only cards & projects cased directly from our Stampin'Up! Idea Book & Catalogue. Love it!!

Stay tune for my new challenge starting next week.

I'm off to the post office to mail in my cards 3 weeks before the deadline.

Thanks for the visit.

Faux Seersucker

I can't believe it's a background stamp!
Here's a card that was made in our June workshop. The technique is called faux seersucker. I still haven't found the right French translation for seersucker so we just stuck with seersucker. lol

We used Stampin'Up! markers to add multiple color to our background stamp then ran the Whisper White card stock through the paper crimper, turned the card stock in the other direction and ran it through again. The butterflies were added to give our card dimention.

Material used:

Stamps: Pretty Petals background stamp
Ink: Old Olive, Lavender Lace, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie markers
CS: Old Olive, Lavender Lace, Whisper White
Accessories: Paper Cripmer, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon

Thanks for visiting KC Stamps!

Clean and Simple

I think I'm still on my Red & Black binge!
This quick and simple card took no time at all to put together and was made with left over scraps. All my scrap card stock is filed and labeled by color family in separate file folders and stored in a stand up filing cabinet. This storage system really works for me. It's handy and has really cut down on waste. I've also saved money on card stock. Well not really saved money. It just allows me to buy more of my favourite Stampin'Up! card stock! lol
Material used:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Black
CS: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red
Accessories: Scallop edge punch, black brads
Thanks for the visit!

My Inspiration

My passion for scrapbooking and paper crafts all started three years ago. My beautiful and very talented niece Melissa introduced me to Stampin"Up! At the time it all seemed very overwhelming. What I needed was inspiration!

You see, three years ago I lost my Mom very suddenly. I had the task of going through her boxes and boxes of pictures. I needed to find a way to preserve the many memories. So I started to scrapbook and found a true passion. It was also very therapeutic. Scrapbooking and Stampin'Up helped me to deal with my loss.
Thanks for the inspiration Mom.

And now, as a Stampin'Up Demonstrator, I am able to share that passion with you.
